“BROWN SUGAR CRUMB CAKE” IS IN:

BROWN SUGAR CRUMB CAKE 
2 cups all-purpose flour
6 tablespoons butter (or other shortening)
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 egg, beaten
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
2 cups brown sugar, loosely packed
1 teaspoon vanilla (scant)

Sift flour, baking powder, salt. Add brown sugar, work in shortening. Reserve 1 cup of mixture for crumbs. To the remaining mixture, add egg, milk and vanilla.

Place in loaf pan, sprinkle with crumbs, bake in 350°F oven for 45 minutes.

Variations: Add 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and/or 1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped nuts to the reserved crumb topping.
