You could also do 1 can of cherry pie filling, 1 can of crushed pineapple and the last ingredient to go on top would be almond slivers.

Great for people that don't think they can cook. I modify this slightly by using white cake mix, melting the butter and evenly drizzle over cake mix, (Optional)sprinkle top with chopped pecans or walnuts, and baking at 400-425°F for about 30-40 minutes, until top is golden brown. People love this dish. I have had people who tell me that they don't like cherry desserts rave about this.

I make this and use stawberry pie filling because my son doesnt like cherries, i add crushed pineapple and nuts across the top, I also use butter flavor cake mix and it tastes great

Try canned apple pie filling, and spice cake mix.

I have learned to save the pineapple juice. I don't use the melted butter, but add enough water to the juice to make one cup. Pour this over the top instead of the melted butter. The cake, when baked is lighter and none of that fat in in the dessert. I am not saying it is low calorie, but save when you can.

My mom made this cake and it is so good. My mom can make anything. She is really good at cooking. She put blueberries in hers. I LOVE THIS CHERRY DUMP CAKE.
