why does everyone assume that you have a microwave. i don't radiate my food and the molecules i ingest. they are really not good for you. and they make you lazy and eat less natural foods. this makes me sad.

Luna, we're not assuming everyone owns a microwave. These recipes are for those of us who do use a microwave and enjoy quick and easy when old fashioned isn't an option. Sorry you're sad. Get out and get some sun! Read the labels on most things available in your grocery store that are not intended to be microwaved... those ingredients are just as harmful if not more so! All in all, this is a place to exchange recipes. All this other stuff is suitable for one of those blogs! Enjoy life however it is dealt to you.

I love love love this recipe! Some people are so amazed that it's so easy to make. I have melted my chocolate chips in the microwave and on top of a double boiler, It doesn't matter how you do it, it works great!! Luna, sorry you feel that way.

I do not use a microwave to melt chocolate chips or any other chips. Bad experience. They can be melted perfectly fine over hot water.

I love this recipe and think the fudge comes out great. People need to rate using a bit more intelligence. Don't rate the taste, taste is in the mouth of the beholder. To me, semi-sweet is extremely sweet, to another, semi-sweet is hardly sweet at all. Rate by the consistency of the fudge, and the prep time, difficulty level. Also, to the one who said microwaves radiate food... Microwaving food leaves no residue of any kind of radiation, it's perfectly safe so long as you're not hugging the microwave while it cooks. This can be dangerous as leaky microwaves can damage your body, other than that. the food is safe. All microwaves do is vibrate the molecules inside the food making them dance, and the faster they dance the hotter they get, basically it works by friction.

I had to giggle at Luna's comment. Worried and concerned about microwaves and eating more natural foods- why in the world are you looking at any fudge recipes??
And while we're on microwaves, go ahead and chuck your cell phone, laptop, tablet, or whatever you use to find recipes to fuss about.

I always use milk chocolate in this recipe because it tastes better to me. This recipe is quick and easy. To Luna... why are you even remarking on this recipe when you obviously don't make it? This isn't the proper venue to express your views on health. This is a cooking site, not a health site.

Ummm Luna... Does your car have a computer in it?? Do you watch how much fuel it uses? Just a couple of thoughts...

This is so easy.. I have done it in the microwave and in a double-boiler. Which would be the way to go if you don't have a microwave or prefer not to use one. It is really easy to do.

I made this a few years back and I used a double boiler cause I didnt have a microwave. Worked just as good as a microwave. Everyone that I served it to thought I spent a long time making it. It just took a few extra minutes in a pot. I did use milk chocolate chips also I made another batch with butterschotch chips.

I'm new to all of this and I'm pretty sure I made this fudge last week. This is the easiest fudge I've ever made. The issue I have is that I didn't write it down and I know it said to add 2c of mini marshmallows to make it into dark chocolate..... It turned out fantastic everyone loved it but I can't find it again.
Any help?

Have made this often. It's a big hit just about everywhere. to Rae- The creamy dark chocolate variation is from Eagle Brand. It's on their website. Simply add 2 cups of mini marshmallows in with the chocolate. Another great one I have made is with German chocolate bakers cubes.

Love the recipe for Easy Choco chip fudge!! My daughter and I looked for something simple that would work and be delicious...we found it... We tried 1 c. semi-sweet chips and 1 c. of milk chocolate Hersheys and it is perfect! No nuts in ours (we have a nut free household due to peanut allergies) Not too sweet and not too bitter! My daughter approves it!! I like just 3 ingredients, can't beat that! Either less chips or less condensed milk would change the consistency and I think it would make a great creamy hot fudge topping for cakes and ice cream... what would you alter to make it creamier... looking for ideas???

I have used this recipe for years. It is always a big hit! I also make a Rocky Road and No Nuts version. I never use a microwave oven for this... Double boiler works best for me. It is a perfect gift for my family and my husband's coworkers. The fudge keeps well in a cookie tin and tends to be better when aged a bit.

My Grandmother taught me this almost 20 years ago. Glad to see people are still using it. I've made it peanut butter, Cinnamon, white chocolate and any other Chips that I could find in the store (some were tastier than others-I don't suggest the cinnamon)

I made this because it was quick and easy... I used regular evaporated milk instead of the sweetened. However, it never set up. I have been putting it in my coffee! :)

My mom made this a lot for us as kids, but she would always add a big scoop of Marshmallow fluff to the recipe at the very end before putting it in the pan. It makes it just a bit creamier and yummy! I always add it.

I was so happy when I found this recipe after I stood and stirred my last batch of fudge for 18 minutes, hard on the back it was. I used pumpkin chips, they just came out this year. I added a little cinnamon and nutmeg - it's like pumpkin pie fudge. How awesome is that? I'm saying very awesome yes!

Easy to do and fast last minute. However, I don't use a microwave. Luna, always thought it was bad for food and health and was vindicated a few years ago with articles saying that it does change food in bad way. Double boiler works great, or put flavors in pans and set on griddle to melt them all at once for variation and swirling look.

I add peanuts and raisins. Very yummy!
