TACO CASSEROLE 
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 env. taco sauce mix
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 c. sour cream
1 c. cottage cheese
2 c. grated Monterey Jack cheese

Brown beef in a saute pan and drain; remove from heat. Add next 4 ingredients to beef. Combine sour cream and cottage cheese in a separate bowl. Place 1/2 the crushed chips in the bottom of a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. Add enough meat mixture to cover the chips, then cover the meat with 1/2 the sour cream mixture.

Sprinkle with 1/2 the grated cheese. Repeat layers; bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Enjoy!

I have made this many times & always get raves! I do believe it calls for taco SEASONING mix. I freshly grate the Monterey Jack cheese & the top melts perfectly! When serving I provide garnish of diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, red salsa, salsa verde (green), cilantro etc. Also, as with everything I cook, I use the freshest (organic if available), best quality ingredients. Excellent!
