If you want a really creamy casserole, substitute the cheddar cheese for a jar of cheeze whiz. Oh what a difference that makes. Everyone always says my hashbrown potato casserole is the best they've ever had. And you HAVE to make sure the hash browns are completely thawed or you may have some crunchy potatoes.

Instead of corn flakes, I used Italian Panko Bread Crumbs, and they seriously make the recipe PERFECT! The Italian herbs give it a unique flavor and now that I've tried the panko, I don't use anything else on top. YUM! Hope this helps!

We call these Funeral Potatoes, cause that's when we serve them, besides potlucks.

I have made this recipe since my mother-in-law gave it to me over 20-years ago and everyone loves it! There is never any left! I also change it up at times by adding cooked chicken breast, Ranch Style Dressing (just a little for flavor) and its been a hit each time! I pray everyone enjoys it as much as we have through the years! Happy Thanksgiving!
