HOMEMADE BROWNIE MIX | |
6 cups sifted flour 4 tsp. baking powder 4 tsp. salt 2 1/2 cups cocoa 2 cups shortening 8 cups sugar Mix dry ingredients, add shortening and mix until it has the texture of cornmeal. Store in an airtight container. Using the Mix to Make Brownies: 2 eggs 1 tsp. pure vanilla 1 cup butter 2 cups brownie mix 2/3 cup nuts, chopped (any kind) Preheat oven for 15 minutes before baking to 350°F. While the oven is heating, beat butter. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in vanilla and 2 cups of the brownie mix. Add nuts. Transfer batter to an 8x8-inch square pan that has been well greased and floured (or line with foil leaving a "handle" hanging out over the sides for easy removal). Smooth the top with the back of a wet spoon. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Submitted by: CM |
