CHOCOLATE SHEET CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
4 tsp. cocoa
1 c. water
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix in bowl sugar and flour. In pan, melt butter, cocoa and water. Bring to rapid boil. Pour over sugar and flour. Add buttermilk, well beaten eggs, baking soda, cinnamon and vanilla. Mix well. Pour in well greased 13x9x2-inch pan. Bake 20 minutes at 400°F.

Icing:

1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
4 tsp. cocoa
6 tsp. milk
1 (1 lb.) box confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. walnuts, chopped

Start 5 minutes before cake is done baking. Melt and bring to a boil 1 stick butter, cocoa and milk. Remove from heat. Mix over confectioners' sugar, vanilla and walnuts. As soon as cake is done, pour on cake and spread a little at a time.

This is the best chocolate cake you will ever eat! It's very moist and dense. Needs to be refrigerated after 2-3 days. It was my mother's stand-by recipe which was always available at her home.
