NO FAIL! HOMEMADE BROWNIES | |
These homemade brownies are better than boxed! 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter 1 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips 1/4 tsp. instant coffee (I used NESCAFE, Tasters Choice original instant coffee) 3/4 cup white sugar 1/4 cup brown sugar 3 eggs (I used 3/4 cup Egg Beaters because its easier) 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1/2 cup + 2 tsp. all purpose flour 1 tbsp. cocoa powder 1/2 tsp. salt Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray or line 8x8-inch baking dish. Over double boiler, melt butter, chocolate, and coffee until smooth. Set aside. In large mixing bowl, whisk together sugars, eggs, and vanilla until combined. In another mixing bowl, sift flour, cocoa powder, and salt together. Add to sugar mixture. Then add chocolate mixture to flour/sugar mixture. Whisk until well combined. Pour in baking dish and bake at 350°F for 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out almost clean. Toothpick should have a few crumbs stuck to it, but not batter. Let sit about 10 to 15 minutes. Cut into bars, and ENJOY! Note: If you don't have a double boiler, you can microwave butter, chocolate, and coffee for 30 seconds at 50% power. Keep repeating until melted. Or use a glass bowl resting on a saucepan containing water. Also, you can omit coffee. But the coffee just magnifies the chocolate flavor! Submitted by: FMC |
