EASIEST & BEST HOMEMADE ALFREDO
SAUCE

This by far is the easiest and best Alfredo sauce recipe I have found yet! I love pasta and Alfredo and searched forever to make it homemade. I think that too many recipes have too many ingredients and that others are too watery. My girlfriend loves it and makes me cook it at least once a week.. plus you can add it to so many different things! This is a great, simple recipe to make for someone coming over for a dinner date ;)

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup half and half
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
pepper, to taste

1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.

2. Once butter is almost melted, add the package of cream cheese. It's easiest to cut it into 4 pieces so that it melts quicker.

3. Once butter and cream cheese are mixed well together, add the cup of half and half, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and then shake pepper on top. Stir all together until well mixed.

4. Once it's mixed well and sauce-like, take it off the burner and set aside so it can thicken up. Stir every few moments.

5. DONE! Pour over your favorite pasta, I love it with tortellini!

Don't forget some bread-sticks to dip in the extra sauce! :)

Simply awesome. I was looking for an Alfredo recipe to use the remainder of some heavy whipping cream I had leftover from another recipe. Instead of the half and half I used 2/3rds heavy cream and 1/3rd 2% milk. Added extra parm and 1/2 cup of mozzarella (also leftover from another recipe). Used a small onion and a clove or 2 of real garlic, also added shrimp all right after the butter step to saute. Followed the rest of the recipe as directed but added 12oz. Pkg of thawed spinach (the kind in the frozen veggie section) at the end. Served over wheat pasta. My 4 yr. old has never eaten spinach so fast in his short life. I too will never buy jar Alfredo again. 2 thumbs up!

Made this last night and was it good. I did thin it down a bit with more 1/2 and 1/2 and added a touch more garlic. Served it over lobster ravioli's. Husband liked it and he is very picky. Will make this again. Thank you

Fantastic recipe! I added 1/3 cup of vodka. For a family of four, I'd recommend doubling the recipe. They LOVE IT!

I made this the other night because I only had one packet of Alfredo seasoning left which isn't enough. I used cheddar cheese because it's all I had and I added an extra cup of milk along with the garlic alfredo packet. Super good! My new favorite Alfredo Sauce! Thank you!

My husband and I have been counting calories, but still love pasta and sauces. I tried this with fat-free cream cheese and reduced fat parmesan, as well as skim milk (half and half has too much fat) and light butter. It was still absolutely delicious. I wish I could try it with the original ingredients because I'm sure it's even creamier, but what a winner. Thanks so much for sharing it!

This recipe is GREAT!! Being an Asian, it's not easy for me cook the perfect Alfredo. Not mentioning... Getting confused with all different kinds of cheese n creams on the shelves. Now, I'm glad those have passed. Ingredients used were simple n easy to find in my country too :)

This recipe is easy and delicious. As a variation on lasagna I used this sauce and mixed vegetables instead of tomato sauce, and I got rave reviews from my friends at church. Thanks!
