“EASY POUND CAKE” IS IN:

EASY POUND CAKE 
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1/2 cup milk
2 sticks butter
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon, almond or vanilla extract
5 large eggs

Put all of above ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Beat for 10 minutes. Pour into a 12 cup Bundt pan.

Bake in preheated 325°F oven for 50 to 60 minutes until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.

This is a FANTASTIC recipe!!! Taste, texture, crumb, appearance, ease, cost! I just ate the last piece of the one I made four days ago, and I swear it was better than the night I made it. A REAL pound cake; not a cakey quasi-pound cake as most 'easy' recipes make. I just tore up & discarded nine different pound cake recipes in my box. Thank you, thank you, whoever posted this!!!

I just made this recipe and it is delicious!!!!! It's moist and very flavorful but not too sweet. It was very easy to make but took more beating time than stated. I also wasn't sure if the butter should be softened but I did it anyway. I made it in a Bundt pan and the exposed layer was crisp and so very tasty.

This recipe is awesome. I made two batches today, the first cake I followed the instructions given, but for the second cake I beat the butter first then added the flavor extract and alternated between the dry ingredients and milk. Finally, I added the eggs one by one. To me this helped make sure the butter was better incorporated into the batter. Both cakes taste and smell delicious though, so if you are in a crunch for time it would still be ok to just throw all the ingredients in a bowl and mix.

I followed some of the comments when making this cake! I did the butter then the flavoring then I did some of the dry and milk and eggs last! It was so moist and perfect and at the end I added sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon.

Ledz, the recipe is fine. And your baking skills will improve, try again. :) Ingredients should be at room temperature, set them out early. Make sure you beat the full 10 minutes. Make sure your baking powder is fresh, not expired. This ingredient, if old, might be why your first cake failed. Good luck!
