Okay, so I recently went grocery shopping and didn't buy any syrup. Although I saw the syrup, I didn't buy it because right there in the store aisle, I thought of the homemade syrup recipes on cooks.com and thought, "Since I'm trying to make whatever I can from scratch/homemade, I may as well give homemade syrup a try".

While all of the syrup recipes looked/sounded delicious, I picked this one because I only needed 3 ingredients that I always have on hand and of course the reviews. Let me just say this recipe is a WINNER, WINNER! GOOD ENOUGH TO HAVE OVER PANCAKES FOR DINNER!

Made this syrup and Dad's Pancakes this morning for breakfast. It was a hit! It was thinner than I expected so I stirred in 2 tsp. cornstarch and 2 tbsp. cold water but it didn't thicken up. So I stopped adding cornstarch/water mixture because I didn't want to mess it up. By the time I finished making pancakes, the syrup was done. My granddaughter gave me a strange look when I told her the pot on the stove was homemade syrup. She usually has 1-2 pancakes but this morning, she came back for 2 more. Will be making this recipe from now on. No more bottled syrup for me. Thanks to whoever invented this recipe and thanx to cooks.com for being there when I need you.

Usually have maple syrup on hand but not this morning. Soooooo Had pancakes in the pan before I realized so I was committed.. Turned to my handy IPad found this great recipe.. just added a little vanilla and butter after it was removed from heat. Was a bit thin so next time will add less water.. yummy my family didn't even notice..

Hi everyone. Well basically we had pancakes tonight but no syrup, lol! I looked online for an easy recipe to make homemade syrup and I came across this one. I figured why not. Only need three ingredients which I had of course and boy let me tell ya I'm in love with this syrup. It is by far the best syrup I have ever tasted in my life. I give this 5 stars and will always use this from now on.
