HOMEMADE SYRUP FOR PANCAKES,
WAFFLES OR FRENCH TOAST
 
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 1/3 c. water

Bring to a boil and boil 5 minutes. Bottle and store in refrigerator. Before serving, heat whatever portion you wish to use.

Tastes good but I wish I knew how to get it thicker. I'll work on that but I mashed up berries and poured the syrup over them to give it density. It was delicious.

My Mom made this syrup when I was a kid! So delicious! If you prefer it a little thicker just boil it longer until you get your desired thickness.

We make this a lot with 4 kids. The longer you boil the thicker it gets. I also add vanilla. Love it!

As a kid we had a syrup my mom made in the south called chocolate syrup..same simple recipe.just add 2 teaspoons of Coco powder and thicken with corn starch.goes great on homemade biscuits or waffles.
