SUSIE'S NEVER FAIL PIE CRUST | |
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup shortening (butter, Crisco, lard, etc.) 1 tsp. salt 1 egg, beaten 1 tbsp. vinegar 1/4 cup water 1 cup sugar (optional) Mix with fork: flour, shortening and salt. For sweet pie crusts add 1 cup sugar. Mix beaten egg, vinegar, and water in another bowl. Add wet to dry ingredients. Chill dough in refrigerator for half an hour before rolling out. Makes 3 (9-inch) pie crusts. Can be frozen and stored. Submitted by: Susie from NOLA |
