This recipe is awesome have used and used it over and over again. The only modification that I make is that I add 4 bananas instead of 3 and bake for about 10 minutes longer. Super moist and delicious!

This is a great recipe I've made it several times also adding blueberries and walnuts are good. Nice texture and simple to throw together and I've given the loafs as thank you gifts to the car repair men.

This recipe was great. I added nuts, a small amount of vanilla and some brown sugar to the top. I also used 4 bananas and cooked it an extra 10 minutes. I cooked it on my grill since it was hot outside and I didn't want to turn on my oven! Worked beautifully.

I've made this bread a few times for my family and they LOVE IT! I'm not an avid cook and this was the 1st bread recipe I tried and it was really easy. I've tweaked the recipe a little by adding a tsp of vanilla extract and a tbs of cinnamon :)

I work for a drug and alcohol rehab as the resident chef and I made this bread for the clients several times now and they all say that it is the best banana bread they have ever eaten! And it is so easy to make! I like to add walnuts to the recipe too. LOVE IT!!!

This was a good recipe but I would cut down the cooking time by about 5-10 minutes, and I also used apple sauce instead of oil and that worked great.

Thia was an easy bake... even for an old retired Navy SeaBee like myself. I subbed the applesauce for the oil, added chopped walnuts & used 4 bananas. I turned the oven off after 60 mins & left it in for 80 total mins. Came out great. Nice, soft moist flavor. Tried to figure calories & came out with about 300 (1/12 loaf) including a little margarine. Good stuff! ;-))

Great recipe. I like to add chocolate chips for a special treat. I also use apple sauce rather than oil and add in a tablespoon of banana liqueur. One of the best banana bread recipes I have tried.

This recipe is so fantastic! The bread comes out perfect! I made 4 loafs last night for family and friends. I did put a tsp of vanilla in but that is the only thing I added. This morning I also made banana muffins with the same recipe. I didn't make any changes just lowered my oven to 325°F and cooked them for 20 minutes. Turned out wonderful. Thank you so much!!

This is a very simple recipe to follow. It is also a big hit. I have used this one for teaching classes as well. I can substitute Splenda instead of sugar for my diabetic father and I have found 1/2 cup of crushed pecans per loaf is much tastier than walnuts. I would recommend this to everyone.

Super fast and easy! I double the recipe and add about a cup more bananas, chopped walnuts and a pinch of cinnamon. I turned the temp down a few degrees and shorten the cooking time to 50 and it comes out moist. It makes great muffins and cuts the baking time in half! They freeze good and hubby takes them on the road with him.

I made two modifications, I added 1 tsp of vanilla and 4 tablespoons of sour cream, and oh my word! Delish!!

Sometimes you find a recipe which will become a 'little black dress' of your recipe collection: great for all occasions, either on it's own or dressed up with a zillion variations. This is one of those recipes. So simple you can memorize it after just a few attempts.

Here are my variations so far:

ADDITIONS
2 tsp ginger
grated rind of 1 orange (or more!)
1 extra banana (thanks Lynda above)

SUBSTITUTIONS
3 tsp baking powder instead of 1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup molasses instead of 1/4 of the sugar (does not add strong molasses flavor - so sub more if you want that)
brown sugar instead of white sugar - (I bet honey would be great too!)
100% whole wheat flour PLUS extra 1/2 tsp baking powder instead of white flour

...the applesauce substitution above sounds great.
