This was my Great Grandma's recipe too. And I was crushed when I lost my recipe card. But thankfully I found it on the internet after looking at several sites. Perfect recipe for beginners. I've also made muffins from this recipe for Christmas gifts to neighbors. Always a big hit!

I make this recipe all of the time and love it! I have an addition that everyone has loved - add anise seed (approx 1 tsp., or to taste), some nutmeg/cinnamon and it is a wonderful combination. Chocolate chips with these additions make it something most haven't had but, definitely want again - crowd pleaser.

Love it. It's simple and so good. I modified by using wheat flour and adding walnuts (about 1/2 cup).

I add a tsp of vanilla extract and one tsp of rum extract along with equal amount of cinnamon and nutmeg for a spicy taste. I have added walnuts also but in the mix .

This recipe is so awesome. I just made 2 loafs and one I used the extra banana and extra time, but that loaf didn't quite turn out like I wanted so I made a loaf following directions and turned out perfect. So easy to make!!!

Love this recipe! Super easy. Made it with my daughter many times. I substitute half applessauce instead of so much oil.. I also add brown sugar to the top of the bread before baking. Tried using 5 pureed strawberries on this last batch for strawberry banana bread. Daughter and wife loved it.

So tasty, but one modification would be to add some chocolate chips in it.

I was so amazed by the results of this recipe! i was looking for a recipe that is easy and that uses oil, this is THE recipe. I read the reviews and decided to add vanilla essence only and to make them muffins to reduce cooking time, all my friends loved the muffins. Thanks!

This is a great recipe!!! I had made a few modifications, added 4 bananas, used apple sauce instead of the oil and instead of using 1 cup of sugar, I had used 1/2 sugar 1/2 honey and it turned out really good.
