1 c. (2 sticks) butter 1 c. brown sugar, packed 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 3 c. oatmeal 1 c. chopped nuts Cream butter and sugars. Blend in eggs, vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Stir in oatmeal and nuts. Make into a roll 2 1/2 inches (or smaller) in diameter. Wrap in aluminum foil. Put in freezer for 2 hours. Cut in 1/4 inch slices. Bake at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 4 dozen. |
