KIM'S CHOCOLATE OATMEAL COOKIES 
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
4 tbsp. (1/2 stick) butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
4 tbsp. cocoa powder (I use Hershey's)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oatmeal (Quaker)

Preheat oven 350°F.

Stir together flour, baking soda and chopped nuts, set aside.

Cream butter and sugar till fluffy, add egg, cocoa powder and vanilla - beat till well blended. Add oatmeal and flour mixture - stir till well blended. Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2-inches apart on cookie sheets.

Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes or till crisp and light brown on the bottom.
