SANDY'S SEVEN LAYER SALAD | |
1 head of lettuce, shredded (or one bag of salad greens) 3 celery stalks, chopped 1 (10 oz.) box frozen peas 1 bag real bacon bits (or six slices of cooked bacon, crumbled) 2 cups (8 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese 1 (16 oz.) jar real mayonnaise 2 large or three small scallions, chopped 1/4 cup milk 4 to 6 tsp. sugar Layer the first five ingredients into a large glass salad bowl in the order given: lettuce, celery, peas (may be thawed if serving within a couple of hours, otherwise still frozen but separated is fine), bacon bits, and cheese. In a blender, combine mayonnaise, scallions, milk, and sugar. Blend until smooth and pour over the top of the salad. Cover with Saran (plastic) wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve. Note: This salad is best when done the day before it is going to be served. Submitted by: Sandy Ciccarelli |
