“BEEF SHANKS” IS IN:

BEEF SHANKS 
5-6 beef shanks
1 envelope onion soup
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. black pepper
16 oz. can tomato sauce
1 can tomato soup
1 can condensed beef broth

Place beef shanks on bottom of Crock pot. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over beef shanks. Stir to coat. Cover and slow cook all day until beef is tender.

Serves 6.

I browned my beef shanks first, which might have toughened them a bit. Did the same recipe with short ribs, and they were awesome! This a great crock pot recipe that is open to all kinds of modifications - I'm substituting cream of mushroom for the tomato soup this time out for my short ribs, adding a dash of Worcestershire sauce, because why not?
