GOLD STAR CHILI 
1 qt. water
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 1/2 tbsp. vinegar
1 can tomato sauce (lg.)
4 tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 dashes A-1 sauce
4 dry red peppers
5 or 6 bay leaves
1 tsp. allspice
4 med. grated onions
2 lbs. ground beef

Brown meat and onions; add other ingredients. Tie up spices and add. Cook 3 hours. Pour over cooked spaghetti and top with grated cheese for a chili 3-ways; add chopped onions for a chili 4-way; or beans for a chili 5-way.

You want whole dried chili peppers (like cayenne), Tie them together with the bay leaves (use butcher's twine). Makes them easier to pick out later, but certainly not required.

I too grew up in Cincy, and will be making this today. I love Gold Star, you can keep Skyline.

I am from the Cincinnati/Northern but Kentucky area. I currently live in Southeast Iowa. Needless to say there are no Gold Star's that far North.

You Chili is delicious and recipe is right on in taste.

So good in fact, that it is 1 of my favorite recipes to pressure can for use later. It tastes even better when the spices have a chance to blend in together.
