“GRILLED BACON WRAPPED SHRIMP” IS IN:

GRILLED BACON WRAPPED SHRIMP
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. lemon pepper
1 tsp. granulated garlic
1 tbsp. Lea & Perrins
2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
4 tbsp. butter, melted
9 slices bacon
18 jumbo shrimp, shelled and deveined

Cut the slices of bacon in half. Partially cook the bacon over moderate heat to render some of the fat without allowing the pieces to crisp.

Combine butter with spices, add shrimp and toss well to coat. Allow to marinate at room temperature for 30 to 60 minutes. Remove shrimp from the marinade, reserving the marinade.

Wrap a slice of bacon around each shrimp and secure with a toothpick to hold both ends of the bacon. Place shrimp on hot grill for 4 minutes; turn and brush shrimp with reserved marinade and grill for 4 minutes longer or until shrimp are opaque throughout.

Just made this tonight for my parents and it was delicious. Used turkey bacon instead of regular bacon. Only difference was a slightly longer cook time. The marinade is to die for. Thanks for this recipe.

I do this the same way but the only thing that I do differently is I add just a slight bit of cream cheese and a strip of jalapeņo. Of course you'll have to butterfly the shrimp then place said differences in the middle and wrap it! It's a very tasty appetizer! Hope people try it out.

Just made these and it was delicious! Next time I will soak the picks for longer than a half hour. They caught on fire. I like Alex's cream cheese and jalapeno version. I have had those sans prawns at Bashas!

I do believe this was the best shrimp I've ever had, hands down!! I cooked my bacon in the oven as opposed to the pan, I think that made it a little more pliable, and then it crisped up perfectly on the grill. Awesome recipe, thank you so much!!
