This recipe totally made me feel like I was eating my moms cobbler. I did add cinnamon, nutmeg, and a light sprinkle of brown sugar on the top before baking. GREAT RECIPE!

I have made this 3x in the last two weeks and find it really easy and has least amt of butter. I did learn not to melt butter w/microwave but put in oven as it is important to get the baking dish hot before putting mix over it so it can get crisper on the underside. I also did not have Bisquick in house so used Marie Callendar pancake mix with whole grains and it was great! Added a few frozen fresh blueberries to the top and maybe next time might add the cinnamon and little of brown sugar. Used frozen fresh peaches and reduced the sugar a little as some sugar had been added to the fresh peaches.

With a little cinnamon mixed in and some brown sugar sprinkled on top before baking makes this recipe perfect!

Do yourself a favor and double the recipe. I added a dusting of cinnamon and brown sugar as suggested and it was amazing. Better than my great-grandmother's recipe.

Made this with light canned apricots and sprinkled some light brown sugar on top to make a crystalized topping. Fresh out of the oven I scooped vanilla bean ice cream on top! AMAZING!!!

LOVED this recipe. My first attempt at making peach cobbler and got Rave reviews from everyone, made a double batch and it didn't last through dinner! I added apple pie spice to the Bisquick mixture and dusted the top with it before placing it in the oven while also dusting the top with brown sugar! Delicious!

I've made this a bunch of times. I substitute the 1/2 cup sugar with 1/4 light brown sugar and 1/4 cup honey.

Just made it tonight with our own fresh boysenberries! My wife and I really enjoyed it and will make it again. It was delicious. Will try the cinnamon and sprinkle brown sugar next time. It seemed too simple to make so it really surprised us.

Added a about 1 tsp vanilla and used about 1/4 cup more Bisquick and 1/4 cup of the peach juice to the batter... It's in the oven now and it smells DELICIOUS... If I would have had the cinnamon & brown sugar I would have added that as well... Can not wait to taste it... Only thing that could possible make this better would be a big scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream on top.

I wish I had seen the brown sugar suggestion but mine is already in the oven. I sprinkled on a little ground cloves and some cinnamon and Splenda, although I used regular sugar in the batter. It's happily bubbling and rising in the convection oven right now. Smells wonderful.

Oh, and I also did the boiling water blanch to my fresh peaches to make the skin slide right off.

Cheers!

I made this recipe with blueberries and talk about YUMMMMO! The only thing I added was a teaspoon of sweet vanilla powder. I will be making it again with other fruits as well!

This is the easiest recipe EVER. Made it with peaches last night and my family DEVOURED it. I just put one with strawberries in the oven....can't wait to see how it turns out!

Excellent recipe! My very first cobbler. Simple to prepare, yet tastes like you spent countless hours and lots of elbow grease to make it! SO SIMPLE, I'M 12 AND EVEN I COULD MAKE IT! Very tasty! I used fresh peaches and they were wonderful in this cobbler. I did not have milk at the time so instead I used some water and a splash of french vanilla soy coffee cream. (Sounds odd, but very good!) I also used nutmeg and cinnamon within the batter along with a sprinkle of nutmeg on top. Lastly, I used regular sugar on top, and it turned out wonderfully! Once again, awesome recipe! Very yummy! :)

This is a great recipe. It's exactly one I was taught when I was a 12 year old Boy Scout in 1962. It does work with other fruit too. I've used peaches, apricots, apples (canned) and blackberries. I had to make a simple syrup to add to the berries but it worked wonderful. Also, of you don't like brown sugar on top you can use coarse grained sugar. I made this today and my 5 year old grandson did half the work.

Very tasty, quick, and easy to make - my family enjoyed it. So easy the kids prepared it.

Couldn't have been easier! And yummy! I added a little cinnamon and vanilla. I had fresh peaches and used the boiling water technique to quickly take the skin off. Just boil some water, put whole peaches in for about a minute, then ran cold water over them and the skin just slides off. Much easier than peeling.

I doubled this the first time but didn't add any time so be sure not to make that mistake. Making it again tonight and can't wait to eat it without the doughy center!

Great and easy recipe! Also, since Bisquick is now available Gluten-free, it is easy to adapt to a gluten-free recipe. I have made this several times with fresh fruit only - apples (added cinnamon to the batter), peaches, figs (talk about awesome!, blackberries (needed a little more sugar for these) and now have it in the oven with some fresh cherries. You can't even tell that it is gluten-free!

A little ice cream or whipped cream would make this a five star recipe.

Dang, I'm laying in bed reading all the comments, made me so hungry I'm getting up to make it now!

SOOO EASY a caveman could do it! "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" works great and I didn't see the need to melt it. If you use canned peaches, the more juice you add the better!! 30 minutes wasn't long enough to cook through all the dough so I left it in for an hour and it was perfect! But once you eat it with vanilla ice cream, you can't eat it any other way!! YUM!!! Even the cold left over was delicious!!!

 Donna (California) says:
I changed up the recipe a little and simmered my raw peaches with cinnamon, sugar and a touch of cayenne for ten minutes before adding it to the rest of my dish. I like my deserts a little on the savory side.It tasted awesome!!
