HILLBILLY CAKE 
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. salad oil
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts

TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. buttermilk

Beat together eggs, oil and sugar. Sift together all dry ingredients. Add alternately with buttermilk. Fold in raisins and chopped nuts dredged in flour. Bake in large loaf pan or tube pan 45-60 minutes at 350 degrees.

For topping, bring all ingredients to a boil, boil for one minute. Pour over cake while still warm. (I use 9x13 inch pan and bake a little less time.)
