SLOPPY TOM (TURKEY-BASED SLOPPY
JOE)

1 lb. ground turkey (not turkey breast, that's too dry)
2 tbsp. cider vinegar
3 tbsp. molasses (can substitute brown sugar)
1 cup ketchup (Hunts)
1 (8 oz.) can tomato paste
1 cup Heinz Chili Sauce (or store brand equivalent)
3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. cumin
1 tbsp. Dijon mustard (or 2 tsp. dry mustard)

SOME PEOPLE ALSO ADD:

1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
1/2 cup diced white onion
1/2 cup chopped celery

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add turkey, breaking up into very small chunks, stirring until lightly browned (not dark - too dry). Add remaining ingredients, varying amounts to taste. Simmer 30 minutes.

Serve on favorite rolls, either as sandwich or sometimes easier to eat open face with a fork.

After you lightly brown the turkey, you can also toss it all in a Crock-Pot, to take to a party, and just stir it after its heated for 45 minutes and serve. Your dish will be the hit of the party. But accidentally say its Sloppy Joe when you bring it, then say later, oops, I forgot to tell you its turkey, so its healthier than you thought ;-) Otherwise, if they thinks its turkey, a lot of people won't try this very yummy dish.
