EASIEST & BEST HOMEMADE ALFREDO
SAUCE

This by far is the easiest and best Alfredo sauce recipe I have found yet! I love pasta and Alfredo and searched forever to make it homemade. I think that too many recipes have too many ingredients and that others are too watery. My girlfriend loves it and makes me cook it at least once a week.. plus you can add it to so many different things! This is a great, simple recipe to make for someone coming over for a dinner date ;)

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup half and half
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
pepper, to taste

1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.

2. Once butter is almost melted, add the package of cream cheese. It's easiest to cut it into 4 pieces so that it melts quicker.

3. Once butter and cream cheese are mixed well together, add the cup of half and half, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and then shake pepper on top. Stir all together until well mixed.

4. Once it's mixed well and sauce-like, take it off the burner and set aside so it can thicken up. Stir every few moments.

5. DONE! Pour over your favorite pasta, I love it with tortellini!

Don't forget some bread-sticks to dip in the extra sauce! :)

I am very pleased with this recipe! Of course I tweeked it a little bit but the basic recipe is awesome! I added a little bit of lemon juice to it as I was serving shrimp with it and it is just one of the best recipes there is!!

My husband and I both agreed that the sauce was much to "cream cheesy". It was a good combination, but much too thick for our taste. Maybe if I had used half the amount of cream cheese, it would have been better. I did add to it sliced mushrooms and chicken breast cut up over homemade noodles. With all the cream cheese, it was hard to taste the chicken or the noodles. However, it was a good dish and I plan on making it again only using 4oz. of cream cheese. Thanks for the recipe!!

This was pretty amazing. I had it with cheese tortellini, chicken, and broccoli florets with shredded mozzarella on top. My husband said it's the best meal I've ever cooked him. I don't think they have half and half here in Sweden so I just made literal half and half, with half a cup of cream and half a cup of 3% milk. PHENOMENAL!

WAAAAY too much garlic powder, I wonder if it was mistyped and should have been a teaspoon. I used just a dash, and a dash of nutmeg. Also, substituted the cream cheese for low fat, and the half and half to plain soy milk. Was delicious! I've already passed the recipe (original form) to others!

This was a GREAT recipe (especially for a beginner like myself). Hosted a dinner last night and kept my fingers crossed that my guest would like it... they LOVED it! I opted to use 4 oz. of cream cheese in lieu of 8 oz. because of the reviews. I also added 2 tsp. of minced garlic while melting the butter. Poured the sauce over diced chicken, shrimp, fettuccine noodles and browned shredded mozzarella cheese on top of it. DELICIOUS!

This recipe would have been amazing except for the garlic - it literally ruined the entire dinner. DO NOT add a tablespoon of garlic. MAYBE a half a teaspoon.....
