EASIEST & BEST HOMEMADE ALFREDO
SAUCE

This by far is the easiest and best Alfredo sauce recipe I have found yet! I love pasta and Alfredo and searched forever to make it homemade. I think that too many recipes have too many ingredients and that others are too watery. My girlfriend loves it and makes me cook it at least once a week.. plus you can add it to so many different things! This is a great, simple recipe to make for someone coming over for a dinner date ;)

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup half and half
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
pepper, to taste

1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.

2. Once butter is almost melted, add the package of cream cheese. It's easiest to cut it into 4 pieces so that it melts quicker.

3. Once butter and cream cheese are mixed well together, add the cup of half and half, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and then shake pepper on top. Stir all together until well mixed.

4. Once it's mixed well and sauce-like, take it off the burner and set aside so it can thicken up. Stir every few moments.

5. DONE! Pour over your favorite pasta, I love it with tortellini!

Don't forget some bread-sticks to dip in the extra sauce! :)

The no butter alfredo sauce: In a blender, add 1 large can carnation milk, 3 fresh garlic buds, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, a pinch of basil (I use fat-free milk), about 1/2 packet of alfredo sauce mix (dry kind) and 1/2 (4 oz.) cream cheese block, blend well. Serve over you favorite pasta. oregano is good too!

This was the best and easiest Alfredo sauce I've ever made. I melted the cream cheese in microwave before adding to butter it worked fine also added some nutmeg. Great recipe.

Excellent!!! Used 6 Italian cheese mix instead of parmesan. Kids loved it over noodles topped with grilled chicken, spinach, and tomatoes! Great!!!

You can make it better with less cream cheese and fresh ingredients then reduce down from there or instead of half and half use heavy cream.

Wow! What a great tasting recipe! And I love how easy it was to make. I happened to have all the ingredients, a big concern for me when I started looking for an alfredo recipe on the spur of the moment. Thanks, Michael!

This was fast and easy to make although not the healthiest its a nice treat for family pasta night vs paying an arm and leg out. The sauce is thick and filling. (Extra Garlic powder helps kill the cream cheese flavor.)I added extra garlic powder, basil and pepper. I also only used 1/2 cup Half and Half and subbed a 1/2 of milk. it was still pretty thick. We also add our own flavors and bacon crumbles gave it a nice smoked flavor.

This is the base for my Alfredo sauce as well. I add cubed pancetta, peas, fresh basil for garnish and either grilled shrimp and scallops or ground chicken, sometimes sun dried tomatoes for color. I use heavy cream instead, but pretty similar otherwise. Yum! This is great to jazz up white rice or even mashed potatoes for your picky kids. This is a once a month meal for us because of the high calories, but we look forward to it!

It was super easy to make, it took like less than 10 minutes to prepare, I used 2% milk instead and it was delicious!! My husband loved it! Just make sure you are constantly stirring it, because it might get burned a little bit in the bottom, with some fettuccine and shrimps it was better than some famous restaurants!!

I loved this recipe. I added half a cup 2% milk and half a cup heavy cream. It was the perfect combination. My family loved it and asked if we could have it again this week!!!
