EASIEST & BEST HOMEMADE ALFREDO
SAUCE
 
This by far is the easiest and best Alfredo sauce recipe I have found yet! I love pasta and Alfredo and searched forever to make it homemade. I think that too many recipes have too many ingredients and that others are too watery. My girlfriend loves it and makes me cook it at least once a week.. plus you can add it to so many different things! This is a great, simple recipe to make for someone coming over for a dinner date ;)

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup half and half
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
pepper, to taste

1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.

2. Once butter is almost melted, add the package of cream cheese. It's easiest to cut it into 4 pieces so that it melts quicker.

3. Once butter and cream cheese are mixed well together, add the cup of half and half, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and then shake pepper on top. Stir all together until well mixed.

4. Once it's mixed well and sauce-like, take it off the burner and set aside so it can thicken up. Stir every few moments.

5. DONE! Pour over your favorite pasta, I love it with tortellini!

Don't forget some bread-sticks to dip in the extra sauce! :)

I never write reviews, I don't have time. I'm a full time mom of 3 (ages 6, 5 and 1) and I work full time for the government. I had to for this recipe. It is EXCELLENT!! I can't explain how quick, easy, and wonderful this was. My kids and husband ate it great and they can be very picky. The one mistake I made was that I used garlic salt instead of powder and evidentally it is more potent so my sauce was very salty. I simply added a half to a full cup of milk and it turned out perfect. I would recommend powder tho. I printed off this recipe and will definitely be making this again. I am so thankful I found this recipe, I will be exploring this website more!

Very good recipe. Little alarming when youre melting the butter and cream cheese and the cream cheese is a curdy consistency, but once you put in the half and half and stir for a bit, it straightens out. I also added just a bit more parm and just a tad more garlic powder.

Super good. Needed a little more milk and garlic than asked but really nice and easy. Added some ziti, shrimp, and a little sliced red pepper, and I was the hero that nite. Definitely will use again!!

Based upon all of the positive reviews given for this recipe, I had high hopes that it was going to be as good as others have stated. However, I was extremely disappointed with the bland flavor of this sauce. If you like the taste of cream cheese, this might work for you as it totally over powers all of the other flavors. I won't make this again. Sorry.
