EASIEST & BEST HOMEMADE ALFREDO
SAUCE

This by far is the easiest and best Alfredo sauce recipe I have found yet! I love pasta and Alfredo and searched forever to make it homemade. I think that too many recipes have too many ingredients and that others are too watery. My girlfriend loves it and makes me cook it at least once a week.. plus you can add it to so many different things! This is a great, simple recipe to make for someone coming over for a dinner date ;)

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup half and half
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
pepper, to taste

1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.

2. Once butter is almost melted, add the package of cream cheese. It's easiest to cut it into 4 pieces so that it melts quicker.

3. Once butter and cream cheese are mixed well together, add the cup of half and half, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and then shake pepper on top. Stir all together until well mixed.

4. Once it's mixed well and sauce-like, take it off the burner and set aside so it can thicken up. Stir every few moments.

5. DONE! Pour over your favorite pasta, I love it with tortellini!

Don't forget some bread-sticks to dip in the extra sauce! :)

This was delicious! I made it and then had to delay serving it, keeping it covered and at the lowest stovetop temperature. This sauce did not separate!

My family really loved this recipe. I did change it a little...I only used half of the cream cheese and add baby spinach and chicken and served it over bowtie pasta. I will be using this recipe again!

I was good simple and quick but it was a bit watery. Cutting back on the butter may have it to be thicker or the half and half.

Alfredo Sauce has 4 ingredients: Parmesan (Reggiano ONLY and ALWAYS freshly grated), butter, heavy cream and a dash of fresh grated nutmeg. No garlic, ESPECIALLY garlic POWDER! No cream cheese (EVER), no cornstarch, bacon or green onions. Buy a copy of Beard on Pasta, and quit poisoning yourself. I learned this in person from my 1st Chef, Urbano Salvatti.

I made it exactly to plan except I added Mrs Dash's garlic with herbs as part of the garlic. OMG! amazing, smooth and rich and creamy... yum!

I tried store bought alfredo and this recipe side by side and I will never go back to store bought! It was too easy I couldn't believe that such little effort resulted in such deep thick flavor! I added elbow macaroni and left-over diced chicken...yummy!
