EASIEST & BEST HOMEMADE ALFREDO
SAUCE

This by far is the easiest and best Alfredo sauce recipe I have found yet! I love pasta and Alfredo and searched forever to make it homemade. I think that too many recipes have too many ingredients and that others are too watery. My girlfriend loves it and makes me cook it at least once a week.. plus you can add it to so many different things! This is a great, simple recipe to make for someone coming over for a dinner date ;)

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup half and half
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
pepper, to taste

1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.

2. Once butter is almost melted, add the package of cream cheese. It's easiest to cut it into 4 pieces so that it melts quicker.

3. Once butter and cream cheese are mixed well together, add the cup of half and half, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and then shake pepper on top. Stir all together until well mixed.

4. Once it's mixed well and sauce-like, take it off the burner and set aside so it can thicken up. Stir every few moments.

5. DONE! Pour over your favorite pasta, I love it with tortellini!

Don't forget some bread-sticks to dip in the extra sauce! :)

I used 1/2 and 1/2 .. .If you melt butter and the heat is too high the cream cheese kind of separates. But never fear the NINJA took care of that and adding in the 1/2 & 1/2 smoothed it out again..I then added the sauce to sauteed onion, red pepper, sausage and shrimp and then mixed into 3/4 package of linguine noodles. NEXT TIME I will add a little extra milk or cream as it was really thick and REALLY YUM... the cream cheese is just the right flavor for this sauce!!!

OMG!!! It is delicious. I made it for my group home. I used Fat free half and half, low fat cream cheese, and regular grated (out of a can) Parmesan. It was still amazing! I am going to make it with all the fatty ingredients and real parmesan at my house and, I don't know how, but it may be better.

My family absolutly LOVED this recipe! I like that it doesn't have chunks of onions or anything in it. Very simple and easy to reheat for leftovers! Thank you!

Love it, Can't really mess this up unless you are cooking too hot. I add more Parmesan and about 4 oz. of cream cheese.

I just made this sauce and it was so good. I typicaly by jar alfredo sauce and after trying this I will never do that again! I added chicken and mushrooms plus an alfredo sauce packet by Knorr and it was fab! My husband even loved it and he doesn't like alfredo sauce. This is a keeper!

It's a hit at my house! Even my non-Alfredo-loving daughter gave it 4 stars. I basically followed the recipe above, except didn't have enough half-n-half, so I used half skim milk. Didn't exactly measure the Parmesan (right out of the green can!) or garlic -- probably used closer to 1/2 cup cheese and 1/2 tbsp. garlic powder. Used a whisk to combine the butter and cream cheese and didn't have any problems with lumps; no problems mixing in the other ingredients either. Will definitely save this recipe to make again!

Omg... So good. I made this with 2% milk and I added minced garlic. Pouted it over chicken chunks and cheese ravioli..... Yummmmmy.

I had a craving for shrimp however I had already got chicken from the freezer for dinner. I was thinking about a pasta dish so typed in Alfredo for some ideas. I read this recipe but didn't have cream or half & half. It was just great with 2% milk and 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese. I just added the shrimp & chicken and put it atop Angel Hair Pasta. Served with asparagus. DELICIOUS!!! Michael, Thank You for a great dinner. 20 minutes.. Wallah... Tammy
