“ALFREDO SAUCE” IS IN:

ALFREDO SAUCE
1/2 cup cream cheese
1 cup milk (0-2%)
3 tbsp. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 clove garlic
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper (more or less, to taste)
3 tbsp. dry parsley or 1/2 cup fresh

The best way to make this consistent is to use a blender. Put cream cheese, milk, Parmesan cheese, garlic, salt and pepper in blender. Blend until there are no clumps, pour into saucepan on medium heat, cook for about 10 minutes. While cooking add parsley (if fresh chop finely) and save some for garnish.

Cook your favorite pasta - I recommend spaghetti. If you want you may add chicken, bacon or any of your favorite meats. I find it goes great with clams.

Pour desired amount over pasta. Cook selected meat in sauce to absorb flavor; If seafood, use a different pan and then add over pasta before pouring Alfredo Sauce.

If you find the original sauce using cream and butter to be too heavy, then this modified, lighter version may be a healthier choice for you.

ENJOY!

Makes 3 or 4 servings.

I added an extra 1/2 a teaspoon of dried minced garlic. No more canned alfredo sauce for pasta or pizza form us! Thanks for a budget friendly recipe. And yes reduced fat and fat free cream cheese has worked for me!

Totally loved this recipe! Many times I've wanted to make pasta with Alfredo Sauce and don't have the cream. I'll use this recipe from now on as it is healthier without the butter and tastes great! Great suggestion to use the blender. Thanks!

It's so nice to use something other than butter and cream... this sauce is so much healthier than other ones I've tried (yea I know it's not diet food by any means, but still). I added some whole-milk shredded mozzerella and that made it really nice.
