AU GRATIN O'BRIEN POTATOES 
4 tbsp. butter
6 med. potatoes, sliced
2 med. onions, sliced
1/2 c. milk
1/4 lb. American cheese
Salt & pepper

1. Melt butter in skillet. Add potatoes, onions and milk. Cover and cook slowly for 25 minutes.

2. Season with salt and pepper.

3. Arrange cheese over potatoes. Cover and heat through until cheese melts. I've also layered the potatoes and onions in a 9 x 13 inch pan, dotted with butter and covered with cheese slices. Bake in oven or on grill for about an hour at 350 degrees.
