COLLEGE STUDENT'S FUNKY RAMEN
NOODLES UNI-CUISINE

Ramen Noodles
frozen mixed vegetables (peas, broccoli, corn etc.)
butter
Parmesan cheese
1/4-1/2 teaspoon chicken broth powder (optional)

Prepare as many Ramen Noodle packages as servings needed. Bring water to a boil. Add noodles and frozen vegetables in quantities desired.

Cook until noodles are soft and vegetables thawed, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat.

Strain noodle mixture and return to pot. Slice butter into noodle mixture; sprinkle broth powder or soup base and stir in well. Top with Parmesan cheese as desired, stirring to combine.

May be served accompanied by hardboiled eggs for a well rounded, nutritious meal.

Variations: Baby spinach leaves can be added, or stir in a 1/4 can or cooked white beans. Dehydrated vegetables may be used instead of frozen.

Save packets of seasonings from fast food meals that went unused to change things up a bit - like chili sauce and hot sauce, half 'n half coffee creamer for a cream of veggies ramen. Season to taste with onion and garlic powder, beef stock and ketchup packets, etc. Add slices of leftover meat or cold cuts like ham or roast beef.

Foolproof, fast, cheap, and delicious!

You are gross. Anything with ramen noodles in it is not a well rounded meal. Not to mention hard boiled eggs in ramen. Thats when you know your living a grimy life. And I go to college and I know how the grind is.

Jimmy, you're a jerk. How dare you tell someone that you have never met that they are gross! Just shows your level of intelligence, I suppose. The last time I checked, grains, veggies and protein is a fairly well-rounded meal for the average struggling college student. Bravo to Elysia for sharing your cheap and tasty recipe that can be prepared in a dorm room!

This is not something to be eating every day, but I do have a similar version I make for myself when I just don't feel like cooking or I don't have much to put a meal together... but I always have ramen noodles!

Ramen, veggies, scrambled egg soup! And for sides I have Whole grain crackers, tofu, and kimchi!

Tell me how gross that is JIMMY!

Ramen noodles are tasty and cheap, but their sodium content is extremely HIGH, so consume with care!

For my ramen noodles.. I crunch up one package of ramen noodles, one package cheese and peanut butter crackers, add pieces of a beef stick (like slim jims). And not to forget the seasoning packet and a little bit of mustard all in a bowl with a tight fitting lid. Add the desired amount of hot water. Put lid on bowl and in 15 minutes you will have cooked noodles.

Not to be mean, but that is the weirdest thing I've ever heard...

I eat this alot as well, except I make it all in the microwave. I've got one of those rectangular Rubbermaid Takalong things and it fits one ramen noodle 'square' and about a cup and a half of frozen asian stirfry veggies in the other side, i cover it all with water to the top of the noodles, pop it in the microwave for 7 minutes, strain and then add either the seasoning packet or any other asian sauce or miso i feel like adding. BTW, the boiled egg makes it more like a traditional Udon style soup. Good thinking! :-)

Not exactly well rounded but very delicious :) I don't know who said this person was disgusting and living a grimy life... it's just a recipe to be enjoyed. If it's not your cup of tea you don't have to eat it.

I agree with others - Jimmy Cheeks is a #@$!#. If you read the follow up note at end - describes the options of adding Baby Spinach leaves - leftover ham/roast... season with additions of garlic/onion powder, etc., THAT is/or/can be... a complete meal.

Later post: Remove seasoning pkt (too much salt... prep noodles by pkg., Add 1/2 can of your favorite soup.
I have upcoming surgery which will give me the ability to only use 1 arm for several weeks. Boiling the noodles cans of soup that can be popped open with one hand... will be a godsend. Campbell company - has two that sound good... Country style vegetables with Sirloin Country style veg's with plain beef... also - Chicken & rice, etc. Complete meals with only two items...
