EASIEST & BEST HOMEMADE ALFREDO
SAUCE

This by far is the easiest and best Alfredo sauce recipe I have found yet! I love pasta and Alfredo and searched forever to make it homemade. I think that too many recipes have too many ingredients and that others are too watery. My girlfriend loves it and makes me cook it at least once a week.. plus you can add it to so many different things! This is a great, simple recipe to make for someone coming over for a dinner date ;)

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup half and half
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
pepper, to taste

1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.

2. Once butter is almost melted, add the package of cream cheese. It's easiest to cut it into 4 pieces so that it melts quicker.

3. Once butter and cream cheese are mixed well together, add the cup of half and half, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and then shake pepper on top. Stir all together until well mixed.

4. Once it's mixed well and sauce-like, take it off the burner and set aside so it can thicken up. Stir every few moments.

5. DONE! Pour over your favorite pasta, I love it with tortellini!

Don't forget some bread-sticks to dip in the extra sauce! :)

Just threw this together, i went with sauteed garlic instead of powder, neufchatal cheese and 1% milk. Very Tasty.

Best recipe ever. I subsituted the garlic powder with fresh chopped garlic though and added some chopped broccoli. It was delish.

I usually use the packaged powder alfredo sauce and I will never go back to that! Your recipe is so simple and my family loves it! I paired it with grilled chicken and sausage tortollini with broccoli spears on the side, had to have extra sauce just to dip the broccoli!
Thanks!

I love this recipe!!!! I make it with chicken and broccoli. Right before I turn the burner off I add shredded Italian cheese to it and it makes it really gooey. My husband devours this!

This was a very bland sauce and uninspiring. I had truly expected something a bit more appealing given all of the positive reviews it had received.

 Yvonne (Kansas) says:
Not a big fan of this recipe didn't care very much for the cream cheese taste. I had to add extra garlic powder and Parmesan cheese to give it more of an Alfredo taste. I like it better made with heavy cream.

If you are accustomed to making real alfredo sauces, this one may disappoint on the first try. Way too much butter and cream cheese for an authentic alfredo. Try minced garlic sauted in the butter, and about half of each butter and cream cheese and it may be OK.

This is definitely a five star sauce! I never knew alfredo sauce was so easy to make. No more searching for the perfect alfredo sauce. I am now able to make my own, thanks to Michael. I can now impress my family and friends. I appreciate you sir!

It is true, very delicious and super easy! With the recommended amount of garlic it turned out a bit garlic-y. The second time I made this, I cut the amount of garlic in half and the sauce still maintained its wonderful taste and aroma.

Very easy and delicious! I made a few tweaks, but I didn't know that making alfredo sauce could as easy as this recipe! I substituted cooking cream for half & half because it was what i had on hand, and it worked fine. I also used fresh crushed garlic instead of garlic salt and just cooked it in the butter. Another change I made was to use flavored cream cheese, in my case sundried tomato. I think it's a great way to jazz up a typical cream-garlic alfredo sauce. Yum!!

I wanted to make an Alfredo sauce that was easy and fast - and different with the cream cheese. It turned out perfect and i added braised chicken breasts to the dish after adding the sauce. My husband thought it was amazing! Thank you for sharing your recipe!

Based upon all of the positive reviews given for this recipe, I had high hopes that it was going to be as good as others have stated. However, I was extremely disappointed with the bland flavor of this sauce. If you like the taste of cream cheese, this might work for you as it totally over powers all of the other flavors. I won't make this again. Sorry.
