RAISED DONUTS 
1 c. scalded milk
1/2 c. shortening
1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. warm water
1 pkg. dry yeast

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Combine shortening, sugar, and eggs; add milk and beat well. Stir in yeast, 1 cup flour, and salt; mix well. Add remaining flour and stir until well blended. Let dough rise to top of bowl. Roll dough and cut. Frost with the following Glaze.

GLAZE:

2/3 c. boiling water
2 c. powdered sugar

Combine water and sugar. Spread over cooked donuts.

Very straight forward recipe. Great for beginners but it would have been better if it shows how many donuts will be made from this recipe so a person can work out how much of the ingredients will be reduced for less donuts.
