RAISED DONUTS 
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1 egg
1/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. milk, scalded
1/3 c. butter
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour

Dissolve yeast in water. Combine egg, sugar, milk, butter, salt and vanilla. Add yeast mixture. Then add flour, mixing well. Knead on board until elastic. Let rise until double. Make into donuts with donut cutter and let rise again. Fry in hot oil or shortening until golden.
