BISCUITS AND MILK GRAVY
8 biscuits
8 tablespoons vegetable oil
8 tablespoons self-rising flour
2 1/2 cups milk

Home made biscuits taste better to me, but use what you will. Follow directions on box for biscuits.

In a non-stick pan, add 8 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Heat to medium heat. Allow about 3 minutes to heat up.

Using a whisk, add one tablespoon of flour at a time. Brown each tablespoon before you add the next, otherwise it will taste like flour.

Reduce heat to low. Whisk in milk a half a cup at a time. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve gravy over hot biscuits!

I cannot even begin to tell you how much I loved this!! I am 26 years old and I've been cooking since I was a kid. My mama has tried to teach me how to make biscuit gravy for years now and it took seeing THIS and how easy it was to get it right! I've made it 3 times and everytime it has been fabulous!! Thank you so much!

Wow Thanks, I have been trying to make gravy forever and its been explained to me a bunch of times but I never quite got it. Thank you! I can finally make gravy! I never realized you were supposed to add the flour in just a little at a time and like basically fry it (or brown it as you said) everyone always just said to "whisk it in slowly" well that doesn't really mean much to a guy who cant cook that could mean slowly like as in 30 seconds or something. Thanks for such a good descriptive recipe you have CHANGED MY LIFE lol

You can also use water instead of milk. My mama always used water because she didn't have milk. I also like to add a couple of bouillon cubes after you add the water. Tastes great.
