Do you mix the soup, broth, and onion soup mix altogether before pouring it over chuck roast? Thank you!

I did not mix it together first. I dumped everything in, and added water to cover the meat. It was the best roast ever!

I used cream of chicken soup and chicken broth instead (because that's what I had) and it was AMAZING!!!
Great recipe!

I used Sakki, Japanese wine, and it was too strong a flavor. Use traditional red wine, much better and more subtle. Beer also a favorite of mine with a beef recipe.

You definitely don't need a knife for this recipe! Serving over egg noodles was a great suggestion. Absolutely loved it... THANKS!

My husband thought that this roast was the best meal I have ever made in 15 years of marriage!!! The only thing I would change it the type of roast, the chuck roast was a little fatty for my family. Thanks for a great recipe!

I suggest you trim the chuck roast with a very sharp knife leaving some fat but a lesser amount more acceptable to your famil. Better to do that then switch meat which has too much connective tissue. Chuck roast is easy to trim - that's what I was doing at 12 midnight last night. I took 3/4 of fat off. Result looks fabulous. My family definitely doesn't like greasy food. Make corn starch and water slurry and add slowly to liquid after you take all food out. Use a frying pan maybe. Do it super slow and you'll have nice gravy.
