Crock-Pot Roast Beef

Good, but too salty for my tastes. I omitted the Kitchen Bouquet and cream soup, which are both really salty. Instead, I added fresh ground black pepper, some garlic, and enough water to cover roast. It was falling apart and absolutely delicious! Just serve broth over potatoes, rice or noodles and add a side of bread for a hearty meal!

Very good I tried it and did put the mushroom soup with less salt in it. I did put baby carrots in the crock pot. Did not put any water in it and the sauce was great.I used the sauce on mashed potatoes. Had left overs and can't wait for left overs.

I LOVED this recipe. I've tried lots of beef roast recipes from Cooks.com, but this is by far my favorite. I think the tomatoes and the Kitchen Bouquet are the key! THANKS!

This recipe turned out very well and was delicious! I did not add kitchen bouquet but used fresh garlic and pepper. I am trying the roast again today but did not sear it- straight into the crockpot. :)

One of the reasons for the searing is that the "crust" on the roast after browning contributes to the finished flavor. Probably can make it w/o the searing step, but since that part is so quick and easy why not keep it in...

Nice easy pot roast recipe, very tender and flavorful. I used the Kitchen Bouquet to season the roast (after washing and patting dry), then rolled it in flour and seared it. I also used fresh mushrooms instead of canned, and added carrots into the crock pot. Hubby felt it needed something else to make it "more savory" so I will try with a bay leaf and garlic next time.

Well, i couldn't make this recipe in the crock pot because a certain ex took the good crock-pot and left me with no cord to the older one.... so - I followed all directions but then put everything in a roasting pan, then added 1/2 cup red wine, popped it in the oven at 350°F for 1 1/2 hours - then lowered it to 280°F for last 1/2 hours. Came out wonderful.

my husband loved this recipe, he kept commenting on how good it was, so I will be making this one again. If you like the "Dinty Moore" beef stew flavor, this is what it reminded me of.

To make the gravy richer, I put in 3/4 can of coke (yes, you read that right) instead of some water. It was wonderful! Kitchen tip: add coke instead of water when making gravy, it makes a beautiful rich color and flavor!

I couldn't find the Kitchen Bouquet at my store, so I just used Worcestershire sauce instead. It was great. I wanted all my vegetables to be fresh instead of slow cooked, which is why I did this recipe. I like the idea of not using beef broth for this. Too much sodium in broth, even though I will use it when needed.

Old bachelor here who loves his crock pot. Freeze everything in single meal containers so I can carry to work for lunch.
