SHOO FLY PIE 
9-inch pie crust
1/4 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. molasses
1 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. boiling water

Put the unbaked pie crust in preheated oven (350 degrees) for 5 minutes.

TOPPING: Mix flour, shortening, brown sugar with a pastry blender until fine crumbs.

FILL: Dissolve baking soda in water and add molasses; stir well. Put liquid mix in crust and sprinkle on crumb topping. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat and bake 30 minutes or until center doesn't shake if moved.
