WHITE BREAD USING A BREAD
MACHINE
 
1 tbsp. active dry yeast
2 tbsp. sugar
4 1/2 cups white bread flour
1/2 cups white whole wheat flour
3 tbsp. soft butter
1 1/2 cups warm water
1 tsp. salt
1 egg (at room temperature)

Press START to mix and knead all ingredients in bread machine, about 20 minutes.

Add more flour if needed until dough is no longer tacky.

Allow dough to double in the warm bread machine (nearly a full pan), about 20 minutes.

Empty dough onto a floured surface and punch down the dough.

Form two loaves and place in medium size greased bread pans.

Allow dough to rise until it is well above the pan (keep warm and away from drafts while dough is rising), about 40 minutes.

Bake at 375°F for 35 minutes. Remove from pans to cool before slicing.
