FRENCH REFRIGERATOR CAKE | |
2 (1 oz. ea.) sq. unsweetened chocolate 1 (14 oz.) can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk 1/3 cup water 1/4 tsp. salt vanilla wafers Melt chocolate in top of double boiler. Add sweetened condensed milk and stir over rapidly boiling water for 5 to 10 minutes or until thick. Add water and salt, mixing well. Line oblong loaf pan with waxed paper and cover bottom of pan with thin layer of chocolate mixture, Add layer of vanilla wafers. Repeat until chocolate mixture is all used. Top with layer of wafers. Chill in refrigerator for 24 hours. To serve, remove waxed paper and cut in slices. If desired, garnish with whipped cream. Makes 8 servings. |
