CHRISTMAS FLAT CAKES (FRENCH) | |
1/2 cup butter 3/4 cup sugar 1/2 cup honey 2 egg yolks 1/4 cup milk 1 tsp. vanilla extract 5 cups cake flour, sifted Cream 1/2 cup butter or other shortening until soft, add 3/4 cup sugar and beat after each addition until light. Add 1/2 cup honey and 2 egg yolks and beat well. Add 1/4 cup milk and 1 tsp. vanilla. Add 5 cups sifted cake flour gradually, beating until well blended after each addition. Chill dough until soft enough to handle easily. Roll thinly on a lightly floured work surface. Cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters that have been dusted with flour. Bake on ungreased parchment-lined baking sheets for 10 minutes at 375°F. Cool and frost with white or chocolate icing. Makes 3 dozen small cookies. Submitted by: CM |
