OATMEAL CHIP COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. quick cooking rolled oats
1 c. sliced almonds
6 oz. (1 c.) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Heat oven to 375 degrees. In large bowl, beat sugars, butter and shortening until light and fluffy. Add eggs, blend well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup, level off. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt; mix well.

Add rolled oats, almonds and chocolate chips; blend well. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9-11 minutes or until light golden brown.
