POOR MAN'S HAMBURGER AND RICE
(MEXICAN STYLE)

1 lb. ground beef
1 cup rice
2 1/2 cups water
1 env. taco seasoning

Make rice according to packaged directions, generally boil 2 cups of water in 2-3 quart pot, then add rice, cook until soft.

Brown hamburger in frying pan. Once hamburger is brown, drain, then add 1/2 cup water and seasoning package. Allow hamburger to cook until water is mostly absorbed. Add rice into hamburger and stir, then serve.

Note: This works wonder with taco shells, especially soft taco shells, top with cheese and taco sauce. You can also substitute the ground beef with 1 lb ground turkey or pork, 1 lb cut up chicken or steak (1-inch by 1-inch cubes). You could also mix up the seasonings, such as add minced onion or garlic, among other spices. Just remember to not over spice!
