“SLOW COOKER ROAST PORK” IS IN:

SLOW COOKER ROAST PORK
1 pork loin roast (or your favorite cut)
1 pkg. dried onion soup mix (Lipton)
1 tbsp. fresh minced garlic or 1 tsp dried garlic powder
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. whole caraway seeds
1 cup water (approx)

Place roast in Crock-Pot. Add water, spices and soup mix. Cook 4 hours on medium-high for a 2 pound roast, and 1 additional hour per pound, up to approximately 8 hours.

This recipe also works for Beef And Chicken. When we do chicken this way, we shred it afterwards and fill soft tortillas with shredded cheese and sour cream. Great cold weather munchie. This is a simple recipe that will make your whole house be wonderful to come home to. Other soup mix variations keep it from getting old. Great article, one of our favorites!

Hi Susan, thanks for the sauerkraut and your recipe. At what point do you use the sauerkraut? Thank you very much. Have a great day.

Hey John I'd just serve the sauerkraut as a side dish.

Tried this today with a 8.5 lb pork bone leg, cooked for 8 hrs. The moist meat fell off the bone and tasted great. A Neighbour had Pork again for the fist time in 7 years and loved it, had to give her the recipe!
Thanks Cathrine!

Excellent and so easy. I used a pork butt roast, so it was also inexpensive (roast was 99 cents/lb.).

Tried this very easy recipe and my household absolutely devoured it. Roast Pork in my favorite. I hardly ever cook and this recipe made it seem like I was a pro. I didn't mix in the potatoes this time. I wanted to ease into the process but next time I think I will.

I used this recipe as a base and added a bit to it. I added 1lb chopped carrots, 2-3lbs of red potatoes, almost 1/2 a clove of garlic, and 2lbs of saurkraut (it sounded tasty from a previous review). I used a 2.86 lb prime pork loin roast and a packet of mccormick peppercorn garlic season... Turned out amazing! *note* i turned up the heat for the first 2 1/2 hours to high, and then down to med-high for the last 2 1/2 hours.

I used beefy onion and garlic,no other seasonings and this was a HUGE hit with my 16 year old son and my husband! As a matter of fact, I have one in the crock-pot for tonight :) Try shredding and adding your favorite BBQ sauce. Really delicious!

Instead of a cup of water I added a cup of red marsala cooking wine and its the tastiest pork roast I've ever ate.

Awesome! I fixed this for supper & it was fabulous! The only changes I made were adding more garlic (which we love) & substituting Pepsi for the water. Also added chunked potatoes. I removed the meat & potatoes & added cornstarch slurry to thicken the cooking liquid. My 2 picky grandsons gobbled it up & asked for seconds! ;-) I never cared for pork roast before but I do now! Definitely a keeper! Thank you so much!

This is the best pork roast I have fixed. I had red potatoes, carrots and an onion under it and I didn't have Lipton Onion Soup Mix but did have a package of Lipton Savory Herb and Garlic so I used that. Very Good!

I was looking for an easy crock pot recipe for pork loin. This was the first and only one I looked at - it sounded good, seemed easy to make, and I had all the ingredients on hand except for the caraway seeds which I left out. I added the carrots and potatoes to make the meal easier. The house smelled delicious when I got home and the pork was equally good. The only changes I'd make next time is to not use as much pepper and to make the gravy was the liquid.
