SPAGHETTI ALLA CARBONARA 
2 c. chopped bacon or ham
1 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
1 c. butter
12 eggs
2 lbs. spaghetti or linguini
1 c. diced onions
1 c. white wine
1 c. heavy cream
1 c. sour cream

There is no cholesterol in this recipe, that's just a rumor. First, cook bacon in 1/3 cup butter; add onions. Cook 10 minutes; add wine. Keep covered and simmer, add rest of butter near the end.

In separate bowl, beat eggs; add and mix with cream. Add Parmesan. Drain cooked spaghetti; return to pot and pour both mixtures over pasta. Be certain to mix over heated burner for 5 minutes. Serves 12.
