FRENCH FRIED ONION RINGS 
3 lg. sweet onions
1 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, slightly beaten
2/3 c. water
1/2 tbsp. lemon juice

Peel onions and cut in 1/4 inch slices and separate into rings. Mix flour, baking powder and salt into mixing bowl. Stir in egg, water, salt, lemon juice and blend slightly. Dip onion rings in batter a few at a time and coat evenly. Fry in vegetable oil until golden brown, turn so both sides will be brown. Drain on paper toweling.
