in place of the 2% milk, add equal amounts or to your taste, heavy whipping cream and whole milk; to die for difference and you can't get it in the store like this, susta!

I used this recipe few years back. Just found it to make for memorial day. Added small tub of cool whip. It is chilling now and looks scrumptious. Lemon pie-no topping!!

Can you help with one small detail? What is the container that this ice cream should go in? The recipe says, "Fill freezer with mixture..." What does this mean?

 Leslie (California) replies:
Rosette, You'll need an ice cream maker -- They are available at Walmart and Target for around $20. I saw one yesterday next to the popcorn poppers. You'll probably need some rock salt too.

If you cut the sugar down to one cup and add a small tub of cool whip and a small carton of heavy whipping cream it comes out much creamier. For five quart, I use five eggs also. Made it this way for years and no one ever complained - can't buy it this good!

This is a great and easy recipe for homemade ice cream. I put heavy whipping cream and the rest whole milk instead of the 2% milk. It is to die for over some homemade brownies.
