WHITE TEXAS SHEET CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1 c. water

Heat and set aside. Mix:

2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sour cream
2 eggs
2 tbsp. almond extract

Add both mixtures together; bake on cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter heated with 6 tbsp. milk
1 lb. powdered sugar
1 c. chopped nuts
3 tbsp. almond extract

Ice warm cake.

Hi Doris,

Be sure to let the cake cool completely on a wire rack (not on a dish) before covering or the cake may steam, causing an accumulation of moisture.

I made this for a pre July 4th party and it is absolutely AMAZING!! Its so moist and yummie! I did add Almond slices to the frosting and only had enough Almond extract for two tbsp but you would never know it! If you make this... Do yourself a favor and print extra copies of the recipe, you'll need em!
