BAKED FRENCH TOAST & CINNAMON
SYRUP
 
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt (scant)
1/2 tsp. vanilla
6 slices bread
1 c. corn flake crumbs
1/4 c. butter, melted

Combine eggs, milk, salt and vanilla; mix well. Dip bread slices into egg mixture; coat both sides with crumbs. Place on well greased cookie sheet. Drizzle melted butter over bread. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes.

SYRUP:

1 1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. water
2/3 c. white corn syrup
1 tsp. (scant) cinnamon
1/2 c. evaporated milk (5 oz.)
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
1 tbsp. butter

Combine sugar, water, syrup and cinnamon in saucepan. Bring to a boil. Cook 2 minutes. Remove from heat, add milk, flavoring and butter. I cooked this a little longer on low heat to thicken. Serve warm syrup with toast, and Canadian bacon.
